Esterel: can I go to the massif today? Map and practical information

To find out, simply check the official map published by the Prefecture: see the official map of the Estérel massif.

• If the map is green or orange → the massif is open.
• If the map is red → the massif is closed for the day.

The map is updated every day at 6 p.m. for the following day. It is therefore impossible to know several days in advance.

The opening of the forest massif depends on current weather conditions, heat, and especially wind strength. In summer, wildfire risks are high in this protected natural area. The Prefecture may therefore decide to close access to certain parts of the massif for the day… and reopen them as soon as the conditions improve.

Every evening at 6 p.m., the Prefecture publishes a map showing the risk level for the following day.

🟥 Red: access to the area is prohibited.
🟧 Orange: access is allowed, but with maximum caution.
🟩 Green: access is open and unrestricted.
