Discover the forest massif departing from Agay with a guide on an electric mountain bike
Departing from Agay (Saint-Raphaël), set off on an Estérel mountain bike tour on an electric mountain bike, accompanied by a passionate and qualified guide. For around 3 hours, you will explore the wildest parts of the forest, including forest trails, canyons and viewpoints that will make you forget the effort.
The experience begins at the entrance to the massif on the Saint Raphaël side, at the Passion Esterel meeting point.
Once there, you will be kitted out and briefed (mountain bike included): the idea is simple, to enjoy a smooth and safe electric mountain bike ride, where everyone can find their own pace thanks to the assistance.
The guide adapts the route to the group's level and takes you on trails that are not easy to find on your own.
You set off on forest roads and DFCI tracks, perfect for progressing without stress, gaining confidence and enjoying the scenery. Several stops with commentary are planned during the ride. No particular level of fitness is required, as the bike's assistance will help you move forward with ease.
If you are looking for a more athletic bike ride, we have a specific offer on our website here.
The route has been designed to give you a real taste of the Estérel on a mountain bike: wide open spaces, striking natural scenery and viewpoints that will make you want to stop (often!). Depending on the day's itinerary, you will discover some of the massif's most iconic sites: forest houses, Mont Vinaigre, Pic de l'Ours, Rocher Saint Barthélémy, as well as remarkable passages such as the Mal Infernet and Pertus canyons.
Please note that the route may change depending on the weather and the group, but in any case, your bike ride in the Estérel will include a section in the heart of the massif and another with panoramic views of the Mediterranean.
The added bonus of electric mountain bikes is that they make it possible to reach high vantage points while still having enough energy left to admire the scenery and listen to the guide's explanations about the surrounding flora and fauna.
The mountain bike circuit lasts about 3 hours (often advertised as between 2½ and 3 hours) and covers about 25 km, depending on the pace and conditions.
Is the outing difficult/strenuous?
No: the excursion is advertised as accessible because the electric assistance allows you to regulate your effort. You can increase or decrease the assistance depending on how you feel on the day, and the aim remains to enjoy a guided ride and discover the massif.
If you like to exert yourself, there's nothing to stop you from ‘playing’ with the assistance and maintaining a sporting effort. And if you come with your family or a group of friends of different levels, this is one of the big advantages: everyone moves forward together, without frustration. For a high-level hike, we can offer you specific supervised sessions here.
The activity is open to children aged 10 and over, with a minimum height of 1.40 metres (children must be able to pedal a size S bike).
Wear sports clothing suitable for the season and sports shoes. Helmets are provided, and we recommend arriving 10 minutes early to get started at a leisurely pace.
Between the sea and the hills, the Estérel mountains are a unique playground on the French Riviera: a volcanic massif, classified and highly protected, where you can quickly go from forest to high points. Starting from the Passion Estérel site, the route takes you to wilder areas, sometimes only accessible on foot or by bike, and offers panoramic views of the Mediterranean and the Corniche d'Or, depending on the route.
Our customers think
The reviews highlight one thing above all else: the landscapes, with their striking views, especially when the light softens at the end of the day. The feeling of being in the ‘great outdoors’ comes up often: in just a few minutes, you feel like you're somewhere else, far from the hustle and bustle of the seaside, while still being just a stone's throw from Saint Raphaël.
Another regularly mentioned highlight is the guides. Customers appreciate the support, the advice on mountain biking, and the pleasant atmosphere within the group. Several reviews highlight the guides' passion and the quality of their explanations about what we encounter: fauna, flora, geology, viewpoints... we don't just ride bikes, we gain a better understanding of the mountains.
There is also the idea that the activity is truly accessible thanks to electric mountain bikes: even people who describe themselves as ‘not very sporty’ say they enjoyed the three hours without suffering, with the pleasure of riding on beautiful trails and feeling safe.
Finally, several reviews emphasise a concrete benefit: without a guide, it's easy to get confused about the routes. Here, you are taken on trails that you would not have ventured onto alone, and this is often what transforms a simple bike ride into a real discovery of the Estérel by mountain bike.
As a result, many say they ‘want more’, with some even returning for a second tour after a successful first outing.
‘A word from the team’
This 3-hour electric mountain bike ride is our breath of fresh air. We rediscover the immensity of the Estérel without any effort. We've known Yoann, our guide, for a long time and never tire of his anecdotes and his sing-song accent. We laugh, challenge each other a little on the trails, wait for each other, marvel at the scenery... Even the least athletic among us loved it. A truly rejuvenating, simple and memorable experience – that's the Estérel for you!
