What is the Pelagos reserve?
The Pélagos Sanctuary is a marine protected area created by an agreement between France, Italy and the Principality of Monaco to protect the marine mammals (dolphins, whales, sperm whales...) that live in the north-western Mediterranean. This maritime territory is exceptional for its biodiversity and abundance of protected species.
This area is also known as the "Cetacean Sanctuary", and is the first cross-border area in the Mediterranean dedicated to the protection of marine mammals in their natural habitat.
The sanctuary covers around 87,500 km².
On the Mediterranean coast it stretches from the Giens peninsula in the Var to Genoa in Italy.
It extends as far north as Sardinia, encompassing Corsica.
Price : 120€ per adult and 80€ per child ( 6 to 11 years old)

No, swimming with dolphins and other wild mammals is forbidden in France. The service provider is whale-watching certified to get as close as possible to the group without disturbing them. The dolphins choose whether or not to approach us.
The presence of dolphins on this trip is unfortunately not guaranteed. The animals move freely in their natural habitat, and their appearance depends on many factors (weather conditions, season, behavior among themselves etc.).
However, the area is renowned for its marine wealth: in addition to dolphins, it's possible to spot marine turtles, sperm whales, whales or other marine mammals depending on the time of year and the luck of the day.
The encounters are organized with total respect for the fauna: we don't lure the animals, we observe them in their natural environment, with discretion and wonder.
Even without a dolphin encounter, you'll enjoy an unforgettable experience at sea, with spectacular scenery in the Esterel creeks and a friendly atmosphere.
Yes, you can take part in a half-day excursion discovering the calanques of the Esterel, or the famous unusual outing tothe 3 Capes of Saint Tropez. It's also possible to go to Saint Tropez by boat from Saint Raphaël or to Cannes au Iles de Lérins.
The advantages of booking this boat trip with TakSea are as follows:
The cruise is organized by professionals familiar with the habits of these mammals. Participants board a boat and sail through areas where dolphins and cetaceans are most likely to be seen. Guides provide information about the animals and answer participants' questions.
You're in for a unique experience that lets you get up close and personal with these animals and better understand them. This activity can also help raise awareness of environmental protection.
You'll be immersed at sea in the natural habitat of these animals, in the Mediterranean . This activity is often practiced in areas where dolphins, sperm whales, whales are numerous, such as the Pelagos sanctuary, located between France, Italy and the Principality of Monaco.
You can find species such as:
and sometimes even sea turtles, as well as sunfish.
From the age of 6, it's possible to offer your children this memorable excursion.
