Find out more about
Top wine tasting experiences in France - Nice, Cannes and more

Discover a range of wine experiences on the French Riviera in the south of France. Wine tasting, wine workshops, aperitif tastings in the heart of sun-drenched vineyards... our website offers a wide selection of ways to enjoy wine.

Among vineyards, Provençal wine estates and authentic cellars, discover the aromas of Provence wines and enjoy a rich and convivial wine experience.

What different options are available for visiting and tasting wine?

From a full-day tour (which includes visits to several wine estates in the south of France), you can choose your wine-tasting activity.

1 - Visits to a vineyard and discovery of the cellars

Duration: generally between 1 and 2 hours

Would you like to experience a simple, authentic wine tasting that is easy to fit into your holiday schedule? Vineyard visits are ideal for this.

On site, you will be welcomed by your guide who will show you around:

the vineyards (depending on the season and the package),

the wine storehouse or cellars,

and the history of the estate.

Then comes the moment you've been waiting for: the tasting. You'll learn how to observe the colour, smell the aromas and understand the balance... without any unnecessary jargon. All this with wines typical of the South: rosés from Provence, fresh and aromatic white wines, and more structured red wines.

These short sessions (lasting around 1 to 2 hours) are perfect if you are staying near Fréjus, Saint-Raphaël, Puget-sur-Argens or Roquebrune-sur-Argens and want to explore the world of wine at one of our estates.

Good to know: some visits are self-guided, others are guided. In any case, the atmosphere is friendly, and you will leave with a clear understanding of how to choose your wines.

2 - Workshops and guided tastings (approximately 2 hours)

If you like to understand what you are tasting (and not just ‘like or dislike’), guided tastings and wine workshops are an excellent option.

The guide will teach you how to taste, savour and understand the flavours and nuances of fruit and other elements found in different wines.

Through this activity, you will learn about:

grape varieties and their aromatic profiles (from harvesting the grapes to the balance required during fermentation to produce a quality wine).

the differences between rosé, white and red wines that make up the balance of the wine, and how the colour of the wine is obtained.

simple pairings (cheeses, local products, etc.) according to the character of the wine.

and easy-to-replicate tasting techniques that will make you a real pro, teaching you to savour wine in a different way, with a greater sensitivity to the world of wine.

Some packages take on a more creative dimension, such as workshops where you can create your own cuvée: a fun, immersive activity, ideal for an outing with your partner or friends.

It's also a good idea if you're looking for an original activity in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, as a gift, or to enjoy during a weekend with a small group.

3 - A ‘wow’ experience: aperitifs, plancha and sunset in the vineyards - approximately 1 hour

Fancy something more ‘art de vivre’ than a classic visit? Some activities combine tasting, gourmet food and an exceptional setting.

Imagine: the end of the day, golden light, a relaxed atmosphere... and a tasting accompanied by local plancha cuisine. Enjoying wine and its aromas, after a day at the beach for example, is an unusual idea for your stay.

This type of experience is very popular with:

couples on a getaway,

groups of friends,

or those who want a memorable outing without necessarily going on a ‘big excursion’.

4 - Excursions and Wine Tours: half-day or full day (5 to 8 hours)

For those who want a truly immersive experience, there is a more comprehensive option: the full-day wine tour.

This activity is not suitable for children, as they cannot participate and will find the time long.

The principle: you set off on an organised tour (sometimes in a minivan, sometimes privately), visiting several estates and tasting wines from different terroirs.

Depending on the offer, these excursions may include:

several tastings throughout the day,

free time in a village,

and a more ‘discovery of the terroir and grape varieties in the Var’ approach (landscapes, culture, know-how), with visits to several wine estates. Visit the production vats and see the work done on the grapes to give them the desired colour and aromas.

An introduction to oenology, recognising flavours and grape varieties, observing the wine, swirling the wine to release its aromas before tasting it. In the form of a fun workshop before lunch (not included), you will become a true sommelier!

A guide who shares their knowledge of wine and teaches you how to recognise aromas.

This format is particularly popular when departing from Nice or Cannes. Select the private option, as individual outings are exclusively in English. With the private option, you have flexibility and the van will pick you up as close as possible to your place of residence between Nice and Saint Raphaël.

5 - Combined activities: cycling & wine tasting (half-day to full day)

Enjoy a mountain bike ride through the vineyards, combining gentle exercise with the pleasures of the terroir.

This is a pleasant way to discover a wine-growing area in a different way, enjoying the outdoors and typical landscapes before tasting a wine from the estate.

These formats are perfect if you are looking for:

an original activity that is different from the classic tour

a nature outing in the vineyards

6 - Where to go on the French Riviera?

On our website, we offer a variety of locations and atmospheres:

Around Fréjus / Saint-Raphaël / Puget-sur-Argens / Roquebrune-sur-Argens:

Domaine Jas des Oliviers, Domaine de Cabran, for a tour of the estate and cellars.

In the Gulf of Saint-Tropez: more ‘premium’ or private experiences, ideal for a memorable occasion (hen/stag parties, gourmet days, private tours).

Departing from Nice or Cannes: day-long wine tours, often in English, with a very comfortable ‘excursion’ approach.

In Provence more broadly (depending on the offers): immersive experiences around the terroir and grape varieties, sometimes combined with activities such as cycling.

Each area offers a different atmosphere: some are very ‘family-oriented’, others more exclusive, and still others very educational. It's up to you to choose what suits you best.

One thing is certain, choosing your future wine in a restaurant will be so much easier, and the sommelier will be impressed!

How long does a wine tasting last?

Depending on the tour you choose, it can last from 1 to 2 hours for a winery tour, 2 to 4 hours for a more comprehensive activity, or 5 to 8 hours for a full-day wine tour.

Can you enjoy a wine tasting if we are novice?

Yes, absolutely. The formats offered are accessible, with simple explanations. The aim is to understand and enjoy yourself, not to ‘pass an exam’.

What types of wine are tasted in Provence?

You will mainly find Provence rosés, but also aromatic white wines and more full-bodied red wines, depending on the estate and the package.

Are there wine tastings suitable for groups?

Yes. Some experiences are very suitable for groups, so please feel free to ask us for a quote from our group service (free service).

Can we book a wine tasting from Nice or Cannes?

Yes. Day-long wine tours are available from Nice and Cannes, only with english-speaking guides and a very comfortable excursion format. Visit up to three wine estates on the French Riviera and share your taste for wine with family or friends.

Do I need to book in advance?

This is strongly recommended, especially during peak season or for limited formats (workshops, private tours). Booking in advance guarantees your slot and a more relaxed experience.
