Discover the trade secrets of perfumes and cosmetics during a guided tour of La Fabrique des Fleurs in Grasse.
After the tour, become the creator of your own Eau de Toilette in attending an olfactory workshop of a flower celebrated by Fragonard.
Dedicated to perfumes and aromatic plants, the factory Fabrique des Fleurs is surrounded by a beautiful garden of perfume plants. At the gateway to Grasse, this contemporary factory, inaugurated in 1986, is equipped with state-of-the-art machines for the manufacture and packaging of Fragonard’s products. Visit the laboratories and packaging rooms to discover the secrets and the know-how of the perfumery.
After the factory visit of 30 minutes, we invite you to unveil the history, the origin, the culture of a flower once celebrated by Fragonard and the way it is used in perfumery. A moment of sensory and olfactory memory with the explanation of the olfactory pyramid, the recognition of 3 blended compositions that enter into the fragrance. During the workshop, you will create and customize, following the advices of our teacher, your own Eau de Toilette (12 ml in a spray).

Fine
This was an experience I thought would be fun to do with my 2 children, aged 9.5 and 12. I booked the French tour rather than the English because we have done the tour before and my French is good enough to translate to my children and the part we were most interested in was the workshop. The tour is free and you pay for the workshop. So my intention was that the 4 of us would take the tour and the children would do the workshop. You have to book online (as I was told on a call) so I booked and paid for the workshop for 2 i.e. for my kids. When we arrived, I thought the staff were quite unwelcoming- they seemed frustrated that I had booked the French tour and not the English tour 2 hours later. They then expressed frustration that I hadnt booked myself on the workshop to supervise my children at the workshop. To clarify- the workshop (which i was told I must supervise and therefore buy a further ticket for) was essentially mixing 3 liquids in a very small perfume bottle, which both my children could have done easily. I was able to translate everything for my children without disrupting the group at all. I had one question at the end which I asked in English. The tourguide gave me a one word answer and then proceeded to answer the rest in French at top speed. This was totally unnecessary and almost seemed an attempt to prove that I should have booked the English tour. Such a shame. My children wanted souvenirs and ordinarily I would have bought but I felt disinclined to show my support after our treatment.
