Discover one of the most beautiful coastal landscapes on the French Riviera with a guided sea kayaking tour in the Esterel.
Starting from Agay, near Saint-Raphaël and Anthéor, this kayak trip takes you along the famous Red Rocks of the Esterel, with turquoise water, sea caves, hidden coves and wild creeks only accessible from the sea.
Led by a qualified and passionate guide, this 3-hour experience is a fun, scenic and accessible outdoor activity, even if you are new to kayaking.
Looking for a different way to discover the Esterel coast? This guided sea kayaking tour takes you close to some of the most iconic landscapes of the Corniche d’Or: red volcanic rocks, wild coves, turquoise water and dramatic cliffs dropping into the Mediterranean Sea.
The tour starts from the nautical base in Agay, in Saint-Raphaël, one of the most scenic areas of the Var coastline. You will enjoy around 3 hours of kayaking, accompanied by a qualified guide who knows the Esterel Massif, its hidden passages and its best viewpoints perfectly.
As you paddle along the coast between Agay, Anthéor and the Corniche d’Or, you will discover hidden coves, sea caves and narrow passages between the red rocks, in crystal-clear water with beautiful turquoise reflections.
After the welcome, equipment fitting and safety briefing, you set off by kayak from Agay Bay. The tour begins near La Baumette Beach, known for its clear water and lagoon-like colours.
From the sea, the view is stunning: the Rastel d’Agay, the red hills of the Esterel, Mediterranean vegetation and the deep blue of the sea create a spectacular natural setting.
The tour usually continues towards Île des Vieilles, one of the most beautiful and emblematic spots between Agay and Anthéor. Depending on the weather and sea conditions, the route may be adapted. It is sometimes possible to head towards Cap Dramont, although the main route usually focuses on the best sea spots around Agay, Anthéor and Île des Vieilles.
This guided kayak tour is a mix of exploration, relaxation and discovery. You paddle along the red cliffs of the Esterel, passing close to rocky faults, natural arches and small sea caves that can only be reached from the water.
Stops are planned in wild coves where you can leave the kayaks on the beach, swim and enjoy the scenery. Depending on the conditions, your guide may also take you into a sea cave. This part is optional, so everyone can enjoy the tour at their own pace.
If you would like to explore underwater during the swimming stops, bring your own mask and snorkel. The guide may sometimes be able to lend snorkeling equipment, subject to availability.
This kayaking trip in the Esterel is a discovery activity, accessible to beginners as long as you can swim. The guide adapts the pace to the group: relaxed paddling, a more dynamic route, swimming breaks or exploration, depending on the participants and the sea conditions.
Your guide is state-qualified, passionate about the Esterel and has been guiding outdoor activities for more than 20 years. Along the way, he shares stories and local insights about the coastline, wildlife, plants and the famous red rocks of the Esterel.
Choosing a guided kayak tour means you can enjoy the best spots without having to plan the route yourself. It is also reassuring if you are new to sea kayaking or unfamiliar with the Saint-Raphaël and Agay coastline.
To discover the Esterel from another angle, this sea kayaking tour can also be combined with an electric mountain bike tour through the Esterel Massif.
Guests especially remember the beauty of the scenery, the turquoise water of Agay Bay and the Red Rocks of the Esterel seen from the sea. They also appreciate the guide’s friendly approach, local knowledge and ability to adapt the tour to the group’s level.
A scenic and friendly kayak trip, often described as a wonderful discovery and a must-do outdoor activity during a stay in Agay or Saint-Raphaël.
Even when you already know the Esterel well, this kayaking tour still has plenty of surprises. With Yoann, you discover hidden coves, sea caves and narrow passages between the red rocks that can only be reached from the water.
Between the turquoise sea, swimming stops and incredible coastal viewpoints, this is a fun, authentic and refreshing way to rediscover the Esterel.
