Departure by freeway towards Nice, then route des Alpes where you'll discover all the enchantment of the high mountains. Stop en route, then head for the Gorges du Cians, carved out of magnificent red limestone. Stop at the Grande Clue, a short walk to discover the flora and fauna. Cross Beuil, a small mountain village, and arrive in Valberg around midday. Lunch at your leisure, then on to the Daluis Gorges and Entrevaux. You'll discover Vauban's fortifications. Return via the Var Valley, then freeway to your departure point.
